2:05 Learned more about the theory of evolution and I was starting to uh get an interest in partying and drinking and doing all that kind of stuff I started to see less and less need of a God in my life So eventually uh whenever I was in the middle of high school I refused to go to church anymore okay so you you begin to drift away from the church if if that sounds right yes and and you were attracted to things of the world the party the lifestyle all that stuff yes but eventually you begin to be attracted to spiritualism yes can you break that down for us yeah so when I was a child I had these Supernatural experiences that though I learned about the theory of evolution those Supernatural experiences as a kid couldn't allow me to just Embrace this idea that there's nothing else out there than what meets the eyes a purely um un Supernatural look at the world so I started to study into other religions because I didn't think Christianity was a way because I didn't really see practical Christianity lived out in my life and nor did I see a reason to believe in the Bible so if I if I get this right you you still felt that that longing for spirituality you just didn't find it in the church at that time okay yes so I started to study into the religions of native americanism Shamanism Buddhism and Hinduism and as I was studying I learned how these different religions could actually harmonize pretty well with the theory of evolution the theory of evolution has a has a teaching that when successive Generations repeat one after another they get more and more ADV Advanced and it's kind of an open-ended question what the theory of evolution leaves it to but these other religions kind of filled in that question for me

4:10 Uh they say after successive lives and we reincarnations or however you want to view it we eventually become Gods right and so I thought whoa so these religions are harmonizing with the science that I was learning in high school and it's answering the open-ended question so I started to study into those religions and learning about this whole idea of becoming a god mind you I never understood what the Bible said about you know what the serpent said to Eve back in Genesis chter 3 so I just went on with it what was the devil's first lie to Eve one is you shall not surely die the second one was that you will be as Gods knowing good and evil so I as weird as it sounds that was my course of study as I went into college I started to study into how to become a God now that sounds really weird but I ended up coming across the books by Alistair Crowley um for those who don't know aliser Crowley was labeled uh the most wicked man of the 18th century and he was the adviser for Anthony L who was the founder of the Church of Satan later in the 19 Century so I read his books um and I learned that there were these beings these Spiritual Beings that some people call them demons some people call them Spirits basically they want to help us get to that point where we can become gods and I said oh well that sounds pretty useful so you begin to explore some of this literature and embrace some of this philosophy of of ascending into to Gods right yes I did uh what what Supernatural experiences did you begin to have at this time uh well there was a lot of Supernatural experiences before I started reading his books I would get into astral projections which is

6:13 Basically out ofbody experiences I would do a lot of meditation and getting into transes through um different music styles that I was listening to and but whenever I started reading his books uh he would detail rituals that could be done to contact these Spirit beings and to be honest I thought that some of his rituals were over complicated and I thought if these Spirit beings want to talk to me they'll talk to me so I did a simplified version of his ritual and that night there was um three beings in the exact description that he laid out in his book that appeared before the foot of my bed and we talked and I was this during a dream was this I was awake I was awake during this time and so as I were I was talking to these beings uh the reason I communicated to them is because I said I had questions and I wanted answers and I thought that these would be some good people to talk to and a lot of people ask me weren't you scared during this time I actually was more comfortable talking to them than a lot of people in my life um they were very friendly very very comforting to be around during that time of my life and that's really a a lesson to be learned is just because something is evil doesn't necessarily mean that it has to make you feel uncomfortable so as I started communicating with them after that night I was able to ask them questions about different things that I had throughout the day and the answers would come to me either through Impressions sometimes there would be audible voices that would tell me the answer or other times they would just set up circumstances perfectly to where I would study something out and learn more about the questions that I had so the interactions that were taking place between you and

8:16 These Spirit beings how long did that last for uh just around a year and a half with all of this that that was taking place what led you back to God so as I progressed more in talking to these beings there was a lot of changes that took place in my life I became healthier because they taught me about um different aspects of health and what foods to avoid what foods to embrace even your life excuse me your life was literally being influenced and shaped yes by the communications you were having by this by these Spirit beings okay yes from the food that I ate to the music I listened to I stopped watching watching television at that time because they were informing me to get me more receptive to their influence I needed to start cutting media out of my life I needed to live a more simple lifestyle and that's something that's pretty common in the new age is that you'll find along with the new age this emphasis of um minimalism minimalism plant-based Lifestyles veganism all that kind of stuff and I was I was embracing it all to the tea I didn't Jace it it doesn't seem like they had a negative influence on your life it seems fairly positive it seems positive but I think the most dangerous poison isn't the poison that's in the veil that says poison I think the poison that's the most dangerous is the one that's in your food and something that's mixed with truth um so as I was really learning all that they had to offer me the mindset of becoming a God was being strengthened and even though there was physical benefits there was mental benefits there was a lot of unforeseen danger that I was embracing in my life wow wow how did you come back to Jesus yes so that's a

10:19 Great question as I talk to the demons more they offered me more and more to the point where they said you can have whatever you want you can have all the money you you can have all the fame you can have all the pleasures of this world that you want but we want a commitment out of you and by this time I had seen so much suffering that their system had brought upon people that I I didn't want anything to do with it and I knew that was the Holy Spirit working in my life at that time at that time because naturally my selfish heart would want everything that they were offering even if it was at the expense of other people so for about 6 months straight I um for about 6 months straight I really was having a hard spiritual time um at first the demons whenever I talked to them they were very comfortable to be around but then they started appearing into forms that terrified me really bad uh sometimes they would appear before me and my girlfriend at the time other times they would appear before me and a group of friends and I guess that was most uh Awakening time that I knew I was in trouble is that I couldn't just say oh it's my mind at this point because there was other people seeing the exact same things that I was I was and yeah yeah that that really scared me in the time so you you started the experience became negative it went from being positive to become more negative more harassing yeah um yeah continue what what led you away from that eventually so what led me away from it was that one day I was just I had it up to here with all the stress that I was being put under and I went home and I talked to my girlfriend I said you know if I go any further in this line I'm going to pass away and she said if we give our lives to God he'll

12:22 Protect us and I thought what like that was the first time she ever brought up God into our relationship that was the first time I actually thought about God in years and I thought hm I realized that he was protecting me because there were times in that six-month period especially that I should have passed away but I didn't because in the right moment it something would work out perfectly where I wouldn't get into that audio accident I wouldn't um get into other dangerous situations and I would Escape Scott free so then I realized Not only was God protecting me in the time whenever I didn't know him and in fact the only time I was talking about him was in cursing but he was protecting me to get me to that point to make an intellectual decision whether to serve him or to not so if I'm understanding this right during that six-month period you were in in contact with these Spirits you were also experiencing some very uh dangerous things yes and very much so you know you sensed in retrospect God had been preserving your life through it all yes yes would you be able to describe what one of these experiences were yeah so one of these experiences was multiple times what would happen is I would be driving down the road and someone would swerve into my lane and it was it was going to be a head-on collision but some and I would hardly be paying attention some of the times because I'd be messing with my radio at that exact time and then it was like something grabbed my hand and moved the steering wheel and made me avoid that car or usually it had to do with auto accidents because really if you want to take someone out I think causing an auto accident is probably the most effective way um but that was that's an example of some of the things that were happening um but eventually you know I started realizing that God

14:24 Was preserving my life through this and I realized that when I wasn't serving God God was seeking my best when I wasn't serving the demons and doing what they wanted me to do well they were just scaring me half to death and I started comparing what they were like to what God was like and I was like who wouldn't want to serve God if he's treating people like me with kindness and with care to get us to the point to come to him why would I go to the other side and be scared all the time and be forced into submission so that night in 2018 I gave my life to god wow that's not too long ago no no just over five years well what happened after that well things got harder uh things got much harder but I had someone to lean on did you still experience Supernatural things afterwards yeah for quite a few months afterwards I started to um have more intense Supernatural experiences on the bad side but so it became more you sense more negative spiritual experiences okay yeah but at the same time I was having positive spiritual experiences whenever I was studying God's word whenever I was praying but I guess the demons knew that I was coming to God so they wanted to double down on their efforts sounds like a very fierce battle was taking place it was it was pretty rough wow so what have you been up to since that time yeah so shortly after I became a Christian again I started to go to a little school called wah Hills College in AR Arkansas and I studied biblical studies there I graduated and uh now am functioning as a late pastor of my hometown Church wonderful it's really strange cuz I was the black sheep of the town but now I'm a pastor in that same town and and it's

18:31 To have nightmares a really bad nightmares if you had a nightmare like the one I've had this is beyond just terrifying dreams of a child this was where I felt like my soul was going to be taken from me and I was going to lose out of my eternal life and I'd wake up sweating and I said Lord what's going on I'm a I'm a missionary I'm serving you I've always served you and then I got to know some of the families outside and they began to tell me their story and uh one family the little girl was my daughter's best friend and all the kids play in the street I'd tell my kids don't play in the street it's not safe but they'd play in the street and one day I heard screaming and wailing and I ran outside and there was the little girl her name was Tindy she was 6 years old like my daughter she was dead in the street and I could see you know she was she was dead blood coming from her mouth and and and so as the days passed we mourned with the family we took her and buried the little girl in in the cemetery and it was very sad for my kids to see this they didn't understand I remember when we were burying the little girl my daughter said we can't put her in the ground she won't be able to breathe so here's this my daughter not really understanding what death is all about but the mother began to tell the Father the father was a construction worker he'd go away for the week and work he'd come back in the weekend she says don't go away anymore because I'm so depressed at night our little girl Tindy will come back and see me every night and she says to me mommy I'm cold come with me and an animist in Ivory Coast understands that when you follow a dead somebody from the spirit world with you follow them you step into the Paranormal world you never come back so this family was beginning to experience apparitions of their daughter who had passed away the father came and told me that's the first I knew about it and I'm starting to get okay this is why I feel

20:37 The presence of Satan in my home inside my wall that's got glass shards all around the wall so robbers can't get in but the evil spirits can get in what am I doing that's wrong and so I began to explore that meanwhile the father told me he says I told my wife not to worry about it that God would protect her because he's a Catholic Christian but she's an animist and so we prayed we went and prayed with her we prayed with him and very interestingly she became pregnant and then she began to calm down and we and we said are you okay now and she says oh yes I'm fine my little Tindy Spirit has come in and we are going to name the new baby Tindy okay very real for them became very real for me you spent some time at the Ivory Coast any other countries you were at we were in Russia okay uh also but I think the experiences that really really brought me and this was about 10 years later was in Thailand I'm I'm I write books and while I was there I happened to write two different books one was in Africa and one was a Bible story from the time of Jesus the one from Africa I was trying to describe in a very kosher you know spiritually safe way about the dancing of the mask and they have these these uh holiday feasts where the mask that's sitting by the fire will just get up and start dancing these are if you'll see them and a lot of missionaries when they go they buy these masks and bring them home and I I tell them don't bring these masks home because they're legitimate symbols of the spirit world so I wrote that story while I'm writing on my computer it's in this book right here this book right here while I'm writing that that specific section on that page my computer starts to go crazy I mean it's erased the lines are scrolling and it's erasing and I'm thinking wow my computer's never done before and then I realized where I was in the juncture of the story and I'm unplugging the everything I can to stop it finally pulled the battery out and it

22:39 Stopped um and I thought wow that was an interesting episode and then a few weeks later I had started another book and this one was adventures in Galilee it's a children's book cataloging The Story Of Jesus casting the demons out of these two guys that live on the edge of the lake of galile the ones where Jesus sent the spirits into the pigs I'm writing that story again trying to be careful not to you know give Satan more credit that he deserves try to do it in a way that won't bring glory to the spirit world but glory to God my computer does the same thing again and my wife sitting beside me in the van when we're traveling she says it's happening again she immediately recognized it she began to pray and of course they yanked the battery out this was the day when you had you could take batteries out of your computers and I realized that Satan was trying to stop me from CL from writing these stories but I also realized he was a lot closer than I imagined and that if he could he would take my life so you sensed as you were discussing and sharing and elaborating on the topic of spiritualism you sense this opposition come into play and it wasn't the same as some of the things that Jason and I have talked about wasn't I didn't feel feel him you know no heart palpitations I didn't feel the sweat I didn't feel the cold presence but I could see everything around me changing and and realizing that there were things in my life maybe I had not given God every aspect of my life in fact a few weeks later from that episode I had a really really bad accident where I fell into the the back uh storm sewer pit uh in the back of the house cut my leg wide open cleared to the Bone I mean it was it looked like I'd sat out a grenade and we thought I was going to die there was no blood took me to the doctor as quick asly as we

24:43 Could and they said wow how did you survive this because you could see the femur you could see the main iliac artery you could see the main nerve and said you should be dead because I should not have survived even the the the journey from my house to the hospital let let me ask you a question and this is the reason I'm bringing this up is because I think it's good for our guest to hear that term spiritualism right uh that doesn't necessarily sound negative what exactly is the spiritualism uh described in the Bible that is negative that that we should stay away from well the connection really is all about connecting you to the dead communication with the de communication with the dead get as close as you can to the dead and of course if the dead are not really dead this is a perfect storm for Satan to bring in all kinds of variations of teachings from the Bible which which shades of you know deception you have uh stories in the Old Testament as well as the new that forbid communication with the dead right yeah so if they're not talking to the dead since the dead are sleeping then who are they talking to talking to the evil spirits talking to the demons talking to Lucifer himself I'm sure he goes on missions himself where very important individuals need to be influenced we look in the stories in the Bible and we we find that to be the case Jesus primarily why why would the devils and the demons and Satan why would they take so much time apart to do this from their whatever Mission it is to to try to deceive people in specifically in this way what's the agenda here oh it's a war right it's a war war between good and evil it's been going on since Lucifer himself rebelled and brought God's character into question and he was demoted he was sent to this world where he conquered this world through his deceptions with Adam and Eve and the very first lie

26:45 Which Jace referenced before was you shall not surely die you go on living that's been his story because as long as he can get you to listen to his story you shall not die the greatest desire of all of us is to to live we don't want to die we want to live forever I I appreciate what you're saying right here which I think is really important and that is the purpose of spiritualism is to produce narratives it seems narratives that are almost counter to the biblical reality yes in fact if he can turn the tables and make God look to be the bad one then he looks good nobody would say the devil is good we look at all the troubles around us if we could see the mask being pulled off we would nobody would say he's good but if he can portray himself as being the antithesis of God who is cruel and and let allows little children to die of leukemia and all these wars that go on and then he looks like the good one they will choose him over God so it seems from what I'm hearing that a spiritualism goes down this path positive as it may appear at least initially down a path of rejecting God or at least having wrong ideas about who God is what would you say to someone let's say who's been uh let's say they're they're talking to Spirits they're caught up in spiritualism uh maybe they don't see the negative Parts maybe they haven't encountered that yet what would you say to someone like that we can see the more we are honest with ourselves we can see him invading every space of Our Lives um I mean we've seen it on television we've seen it in movies we've seen it in music seen in politics it's very evident that Satan is using all of these things to Cloud our minds to to get us to accept everything then what would you say to someone let's say they're trying to get away from it and they can't what would they do to escape the the this that kind of negative Supernatural unbiblical Supernatural

28:48 Experience hang out with people who have something to say about it from the other side it's like switching the news channel if you really get depressed on one channel switch the other one Jace would you like to add to that who you hang around will determine if you escape it or not um that was really the thing that helped me to leave completely uh was having friends even though they were much older than me they were friends who were able to guide me through that very delicate time in my life what would you say to someone who maybe is curious about exploring the occult May the ult maybe be a learning to them the idea of Supernatural power that's available what would you say to someone that who's curious about that well first of all right now which the wiah and some of the organizations of the occult it's the fastest growing religion in America per capita and I believe is the answer is for to that is people want answers and they go to the supernatural World they'll get answers right away either with terot cards or horoscope or mag magic eight balls or or maybe Ouija board they get the answer right away whereas sometimes they say well I ask God you know to help me and he makes me wait he doesn't answer my prayers but if I go this route I can get my answers but I I like Jay said that's a very deceptive thing because it may seem comforting but remember the devil's agenda is not to help us he's not our you know our sports agent or our he doesn't have our best our publicist he's he just want you to join him because he knows his end is coming and the more people he can get to join him the less the father will receive soon from what I'm hearing from you is if someone is curious about that to try to avoid it all together it's one thing to to get some knowledge about something it's another thing to try to uh enter into the experience of the

32:53 Guest tonight don't go away welcome back to Hope at night we've heard stories from two individuals tonight who can not only attest to the reality and power of the spirit world but also to the greater power of God at this time I'd like to turn to our live in studio audience to see if they have any questions for our guest tonight all right do we have any questions here we got a question right there I'd like to ask how you can discern what's good and true when the spirits can use the Bible to advance their agenda and can appear to be doing good at first I'll take that one so uh Jesus faced the same situation that often times people face Satan came to him and said if you are the Son of God cast yourself off of this Temple because it is written you know you God will send his angels to protect you lest you dash your foot against a stone but Jesus saying man shall not live by bread alone but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God so the problem is not that Satan uses the Bible to sustain his but that he only uses a portion of it because he left off the part that said to keep thee in all of thy ways at the end of the verse so God would uphold Christ so if I'm hearing this right he quoted the devil quoted part of Psalm 91 to Jesus but he left the the most important part of Psalm 91 out of that conversation exactly yeah so taking the Bible as a whole not parts and pieces

34:59 Which is always how eror will use the Bible just parts and pieces here in the wrong context if we look at the Bible as a whole and do what God tells us to do and live by every word that proceeds out of the mouth of God that's how we can have a genuinely good relationship with God and uh abide in the truth from what I'm hearing is that as you spend some time in the word you have uh an awareness of what scripture is teaching yes uh the totality of scripture and that way if something is misquoted or used um inappropriately it will contradict the the big picture ideas that are in scripture exactly fascinating let's go to our second question we got a second question right over there um my question is you mentioned a little bit that people have like Trinkets and there's rituals to keep all these bad spirits away I was wondering if there are you know trinkets or bad or ritual uals to keep Satan away or if there's no way to really keep him from manipulating us I'll take that one in the Bible you you got to you got to go to the Bible as your Source whenever you want to find answers you don't find in the Bible people using trinkets they call on the Lord their God sometimes they go to the priest at the temple sometimes you know they pray but you don't find them using fetishes that's very much tied into a lot of the religions we are talking about here tonight a fetish is a is an object that has symbolism in it itself maybe holy symbolism and we use that because we feel we can't get to God without it that's a good luck charm we don't need good luck charms with God because Jesus came and did it all for us he just asks that we access his grace by asking him so so by faith in prayer in the name of Jesus that's all you need that's it right so don't need any trinkets any uh Holy Cross or some goblet or some special thing you

37:04 Can go straight to God through Jesus but it's a hard concept to teach for somebody who's been doing it all their life and they say well thank you very much if you don't mind I'm still going to go to leave my little bowl of rice at the temple because just in case and and say you know God be with you God will help you and I think God understands sometimes he Winks at these things because he understands they're doing the best they can but ultimately sooner or later you will come to the place to just trust in God's goodness and not worry about all those little relics or holy little fetishes that you use so when it comes to a person who's trying to get away from that stuff how do they how do they uh hinge their faith upon Jesus go hang out with people who do it all the time without those little extras so the community of Believers that you're part of makes a difference now that CO's passed you know come to the church with your brothers and sisters and and that is where you have communion right like I heard someone say you can download a sermon but you can't download a community right that's right let's go to our third question we got a third question right over there um is it possible for demons to impersonate Angels or Jesus himself and I heard one way was to tell by looking at their feet so H so uh the Bible does state that Satan himself appears as an angel of Light and we also can see that um it would not be past Satan's ability to impersonate Angels or Jesus himself because he has an intimate familiarity with Heaven because he was there at one point in time and he understands Heaven a lot better than any artist here can ever picked and so it would if he can transform himself into an angel of Light if we saw an angel of Light we would as John would do probably fall down to the

39:09 Ground and try to start worshiping him but and that's uh Revelation chapter 19 for those who are interested in that story um but yes Satan can counterfeit these angels and I believe Paul also talks about if any other Angel preaches another gospel un to you let him be a cursed so there would be these Supernatural manifestations that would seem like beings of light coming to people but in reality it's not the right Angels so let me ask you a question if it looks like Jesus sounds like Jesus Talks Like Jesus looks like an angel sounds like an angel uh how do you know the difference would this being contradict anything that was previously stated in Isaiah 8:20 says unto La unto the testimony if they speak not according to this word there is no light in them so if they contradict the Bible the main principles of the Bible where the whole of scripture agrees then you can be assured that you're not dealing with the right being so that's why it's important to familiarize yourself with what the scripture is to right that's why God wants us to study exactly right exactly wonderful excellent let's go to our fourth question we got a fourth question right over here um so how would you be able to tell the difference like whether it's like a spiritual experience like Paranormal things or like beings visiting you how would you tell if that's from God or if it's like a de experience yeah uh kind of going back earlier to the word and the testimony um if we really do study the Bible we will be able to discern and if in any way these beings are trying to get us to compromise on moral issues on uh biblical standards then we can be assured that yeah they're not really from God um I can't think of very many

41:13 Other ways other than the Bible to really discern because if it's a physical feature of them well I mean they can manipulate themselves and turn themselves into angels of light so we can't really just say yeah because they're you know standing on the ground or I I don't know exactly what you were referring to earlier whenever you said something looking at their feet but all of those physical characteristics can be manipulated I believe and um it boils down to studying the Bible and having it to be your bread and butter every day one short test is is to is to Faith the spirit or The Apparition is say in the name of Jesus tell me are you have you been sent heaven and this this Apparition will disappear I read a story about a a pastor in Brazil whose two little daughters died twin daughters and he was so depressed he knew he was not counting on God like he should not praying enough and one day when he was in the church in the church in the sanctuary preparing for the sermon he the back door is open and his two little girls walk down the aisle toward him and he knew immediately that this was not of God but he was so depressed he didn't say in the name of Jesus are you sent from heaven and he became a spiritualist over that episode because he did not access God's Throne to give him strength and give him help so that's a very good question it seems very alluring and seducing in a sense and that's why in the Old Testament it's called be it says to be careful of familiar spirits and the root word of familiar is family like this you know these uh episodes of your your your loved ones who have depart you know have died are are appearing there there's very much an agenda there and it seems to be driving to something and I

43:16 Think what you had said Jas was really important eventually it heads towards a place of a a diminishment of your experience with God a diminishment of your understanding of the Gospel that saves you and of scripture yes right the devil doesn't want that stuff otherwise he'd be shooting himself in the foot his pH Foot Right excellent I think we'll take uh time for one more question we got a question right over here yes hi um it sounds like the experience of dealing with Spirits is similar to the symptoms of the mental illness schizophrenia are the two intertwined and if not how can you tell if you're actually dealing with real spirits or if it's something that's created by your psyche well I I'll take that one that's my line of work in the field of psychology um schizophrenia is very real um in my some of my classes we used to to give the students the experience of schizophrenia we would get them into groups and two people would be trying to have a conversation and the other two are are just talking nonsense trying to distract them and after 5 minutes these students I can't take this I'm going to go crazy and I said now you know how a person who has schizophrenia or a person who is possessed with a spirit feels because these people say it's very real I I feel like I'm here in the room but I have these voices talking to me telling me to do things I should not do you we've all seen movies about people who are having real episodes they see things we cannot see they hear things we cannot see and sometimes as Christians that we want to make that be just a spirit spiritual thing it's just a possession thing no it's very real right we can see those things we can hear them but Satan uses those to his Advantage yeah so what I'm hearing from you is that there are very legitimately mental illnesses that exist but there's also seems to be this range of not exactly possession but some form of harassment that the devil gives and

45:19 That comes in various degrees Jas yeah um to also answer your question there is this area that's kind of blurred you really don't know for sure if you're dealing with the mental illness or if you're dealing with uh demonic activity up until I believe there's some high level people in the world today who are getting involved in seances spiritualism all this kind of stuff and they will tell you themselves they are having tremendous success they're not the people with schizophrenia that are hearing voices all the time these are people who are very successful in what they do and they receive this counsel from the beings uh and so what I would say is it's hard to tell in some cases but in other cases with the physical manifestations where other people are being able to witness and say yeah that really happened that no longer becomes a mental illness problem that becomes a demonic activity through and through wow remember if Satan gives us these Mind Games he can take them away temporarily to restore us you know in the end time here we know that scriptures tell us that there will be healings these will be manifestations Miracles um and they'll be false Miracles because Satan's again trying to deceive us to cost us our Salvation yeah God still does Miracles but not every Miracle is necessarily from wow fantastic discussion I have really really enjoyed it's been very insightful thank you jce and thank you Dr Boo for being with us tonight your stories tonight have really impacted me about the reality of the supernatural World there truly is a battle taking place behind the scenes of the forces of good and the forces of evil there is a spirit that seems attractive and enticing but which ultimately desires our destruction
